Okay more like shocked to find out I like Modern American Art!
The Philadelphia Museum of Art is huge! I was blessed to go there over the last weekend, and did not get through even half of what was there. The first section I always head to is the Expressionists… Monet. And they do have some very beautiful pictures in that section. But then I went to the American Modernist exhibit and was blown away by the color and the COLOR oh and the COLORS! Not only color but movement too. They just looked alive . It made all the expressionist paintings look faded and pale, and still. I don’t want my paintings to look like a still picture shot in time.
