In the woods, where I live, there is a short path. In one spot, the path goes through dark, close pines, where the light barely makes it through the branches. It is very quiet and peaceful. If you continue on, you come to a gap in the woods, where the pines are not so close, and there are a few maple trees growing on each side of the path. So you come out of the dark green trees and are hit with sunshine rays coming through, while ahead you can see more dark woods.
In the fall, those maple trees are RED and YELLOW, Bright RED and Bright YELLOW! The colors mix with the sun beams from the blue, blue sky. The color blue you only see in the fall. In this spot I feel like all these colors are swirling around me. The reds, yellows and oranges bombard me from all angles. It almost feels like it is too bright, and too much color for my senses.
This is the closest I have to come to getting that impression on to paper ( or in this case pastel board).
