Do you wake up with ideas? Or see something while driving and have some crazy idea? I do… I have ideas all the time! Right now I have 3 different sculpture ideas that I really would like to do and get out of my head, but I haven’t been able to find anyone interested in any of the other ones I have made…so I feel defeated before I even start on them.
Recently I was driving home and passed a piece of drainage pipe in someone’s yard. It had been twisted while they attempted to remove it. Even though I just glanced at it in passing, I saw it as a sculpture of a wave. In my mind, I was pressure washing it and painting it different shades of blue and white. Then I would place it in tall waving grass. I can see the whole thing! And this is just one idea from one glance! I have these kinds of thoughts all the time, anytime my eyes are open.
So I was thinking that since I will never get to all of these ideas, could I sell some? I was at a craft show once and a woman was telling me about all of this special glass that she had collected for years and didn’t know what to do with it. She described them to me and I gave her two ideas off the top of my head. Selling ideas; that would be so fun. I could set up a table at a craft show and put out a sign: Ideas-$50. (Think Lucy from Peanuts-adjusted for inflation) How cool would this be? NO work, and I could get the ideas out of my head and into someone else’s, and they could make it.
What do you think? Anyone looking for ideas?
